Feet converter explained
Switch any length measured in feet to inches, yards, miles, or metric units in a single view. It’s handy for carpentry plans, real estate layouts, and athletic field specs.
How the conversion works
The foot is defined exactly as 0.3048 meters. Convert feet to meters, then scale to the target unit:

Tips and pitfalls
- Use feet-and-inches for human-scale work (doors, furniture); switch to decimals when feeding CAD or CNC tools.
- For survey work, keep at least three decimal places in feet to stay within 1/1000 ft (~0.3 mm).
- Always confirm whether a spec uses the international foot (0.3048 m) or the older U.S. survey foot (0.3048006096 m); most states retired the survey foot in 2023.
